Alien Skin, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, provided an account of his life, detailing his decision to quit school and his difficult relationship with his mother.

Alien Skin, known for his bombastic persona, has gained popularity as an internet sensation, but his journey did not begin in the music industry. During an interview on CBS FM, he recounted how his mother had secured a loan to help him purchase a motorcycle and enter the Boda Boda industry.

He had added some funds and acquired the bike but was occasionally apprehended by law enforcement officers due to his lack of documentation. He quit because he refused to abide by the rules and eventually disassembled and destroyed the bike. Despite his siblings and friends' encouragement to pursue singing, he did not initially see himself becoming a musician, although he acknowledged it would be the easiest thing for him to do as he had been through worse. He also mentioned that he always hung out with older people as he believed he was more mature than his peers.

His mother disapproved of the company he kept, but she eventually relented. He admitted to having been looking for a reason to drop out of school, and that opportunity presented itself with the bike venture. Alien Skin began his music career in 2017 as an underground rapper in the ghetto, but he started releasing music regularly in 2019. His song titled "Tulabise," which was released in 2021, went viral on TikTok, and after releasing "Tonkaka" and "Sitya Danger" in 2022, he gained the attention of influential people in the music industry.
