Ashburg Katto got a job in the NRM Office of the National Chairman (ONC) as the ruling party gets ready for the 2026 elections.

ONC, which is led by Hajat Uzeiye Namyalo Hadijah, showed off a 130-person team that will go to 22 sub-regions across the country to help the party get ready for the presidential election in 2026.

The Social Media Online Team is made up of 17 people, and Katto is one of them.

"We were looking for ways to add value, not for friends. If not, I have a lot of friends, but I didn't call any of them. You had to go through a lot of checks before you were finally hired by this office. We have a way to judge how well people did, and those who did better will be rewarded. Hadijah, who is also the senior presidential advisor on political matters, said over the weekend when she introduced the team that they should learn how to fight for relevance in their own fields.

Ashburg Katto, who started blogging in 2008 and became a Facebook star, was close to NUP leader Bobi Wine until 2020, when he decided to join the NRM. Since 2009, he had worked for Wine and helped him run his social media accounts.

People thought for a while after he joined the NRM that he would be left behind after being "used," but it looks like he made the right choice based on how things are going so far.

Ashraf Kato, who is now known as Katto, was born in Masaka.
