"It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of our beloved son on the evening of February 10, 2023. His death was sudden and tragic. We are waiting for the Durban Police to tell us more.
"For us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, but most importantly, he was the father of his beloved daughter Kairo. Many of his fans called him AKA, SUPAMEGA, BHOVA, and the many other names they gave him out of love.
"People loved our son, and he loved back. In this time of sadness, we ask for your kindness, space, and time so that we can get together as a family to talk about the next few days. We appreciate all the love and help we've gotten so far, and we ask that you keep us in your prayers and lift us up in the Lord.
