On Saturday morning, a hacker breached the Twitter account belonging to Dickson Kateshumbwa, the Member of Parliament for Sheema Municipality, and captured screenshots of certain Direct Messages (DMs) that the MP had received.

On one of the screenshots captured by the hacker, it showed that NBS news anchor, Samson Kasumba, had a conversation with MP Kateshumbwa about his house which was still under construction. Kasumba mentioned that he was in need of money to help with the painting, to which Kateshumbwa promised to contribute one million Ugandan shillings.

After the incident was exposed, Kasumba finally spoke up on the matter, tweeting a message requesting contributions from anyone who felt moved to help. His tweet read, "Ladies and gentlemen, friends and fans of my work. The house is not yet finished. I am here for those of you who feel moved to contribute.

May God richly bless your hearts abundantly as you contribute. Amen to God our Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Amen." Despite his previous tendency to brag, Kasumba was ridiculed on social media after tweeting a picture of expensive shoes, claiming that they cost over a million Ugandan shillings. Netizens questioned why someone who could afford such shoes was struggling to paint their own house.
