"Before men were interested in dating me, they would tell me they wanted to give me [Toyota Land Cruiser] V8s—even old ones—if I married them. I can't, of course... I turned them down and their gifts as well, "In an interview with BTM TV, the "Only Jesus" singer said this. "Because you can't just meet a man on the street and not be sure about him."
The 33-year-old singer was asked how she makes money since she just bought a new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 and hasn't been seen performing a lot to make money from her music.
"I appreciate my parents. I want to thank my late dad, His Excellency Boney Katatumba. May he finally be at peace. Gertrude Katatumba, my mom, is still alive. I mean, if they hadn't left us such a great legacy, what would we do? You understand what I mean? So, thank God for them "she told me.
In another interview, the former Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Uganda was asked how she made money. She shocked the interviewer by saying that part of her job is to fight legal cases with their business rivals. She said, "I work, I hustle... I have court cases, business deals, and meetings."
"When you are on your own, you can choose what to do. You choose who to hang out with. I'm free to do what I want. I'm not under pressure."
On the kind of man she's looking for: "I want a man who will come and help me grow, so that we both grow. Also, he is doing well. I am doing well. We're glad to have each other. Not a man who tells you because you're a woman you have to go cook because he says so. No, sir. You understand?" Angella Katatumba is a divorcee. She met the man she later divorced when she was playing with a live band at Ponanas' Club on Cornmarket Street in Oxford, England. This was in 2000, when she was going to Oxford Brookes University to get her Master's in International Management.
In 2008, they broke up because her ex-husband, Ward Alonzo, was said to have become too controlling and lacked ambition. Even though they met in the UK, Alonzo was from the US city of Chicago, so that's where they stayed. Since then, Katatumba has not been married, but she has dated a lot. Her most recent public relationship was with the music producer Andrew Ojamob, aka Daddy Andre, with whom she has released a number of songs, including "Tonelabila" and "Wendi."
