Bebe Cool pleasantly surprised Next Media staff during an event arranged by the company in celebration of its 15th-year milestone.

Bebe Cool praised Kin Kariisa, the founder and CEO of NBS TV, for consistently recognizing the importance of the arts and entertainment industry in their journey of progress. "Throughout these 15 years, I have been on this journey with NBS TV, and I believe I was the first artist to collaborate with them," he stated.

He expressed his gratitude to Kariisa for being a strong supporter and emphasized the significance of teamwork in achieving greatness. Bebe Cool expressed his pride in being part of the NBS adventure.

Additionally, Bebe Cool encouraged NBS TV producers to prioritize creating stories that are beneficial to the arts and entertainment sectors. He emphasized that these stories contribute to the livelihoods and financial well-being of artists and their families.

"We educate, promote, and develop through the media. Let's collaborate to further promote the arts business," Bebe Cool stated, recognizing the media's role in fostering growth and success in the arts. During his speech, Kariisa acknowledged that Next Media Services, particularly NBS TV, has brought about a revolution in the media industry while also shaping the narrative.

"In the past 16 years, we have transformed the narrative, even shaping popular memes and phrases that people use in their daily lives and on social media," he remarked.

He further added, "Our influence has been so significant that parliamentary proceedings have been halted to watch NBS Investigates before making decisions on certain matters. We have had an impact on policies and business in this country, among other things."

The CEO and founder of Next Media Services also highlighted three key factors that have propelled the company to greater heights. These factors, he stated, are People, Digital migration, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We have reached new heights thanks to three factors: our talented team, the transition to digital platforms, and the unique circumstances presented by COVID-19, which provided people with more free time due to the lockdown," he explained.

As NBS TV commemorates its 15-year anniversary, the channel remains committed to showcasing diverse artists and narratives from the arts and entertainment sectors. They continue to contribute to the growth and development of Uganda's cultural landscape by amplifying the voices of artists such as Bebe Cool.
