The renowned Ugandan Lugaflow rapper, GNL Zamba, shares an incident where fans mistakenly identified him as Offset, the American rapper and husband of Grammy Award winner Cardi B. GNL Zamba, also known as Ernest Nsimbi, relocated to the United States in 2016 to pursue both his acting career in Hollywood and further his musical journey.
During a visit to Los Angeles Airport, GNL Zamba recounts being surrounded by a group of enthusiastic fans who mistook him for Offset. Accompanied by his wife, Miriam Tamar, he found himself approached by a few fans who believed he was the famous rapper. In a TikTok live stream on Sunday, July 2, GNL Zamba humorously described the situation, stating, "Others then wondered who I was, and they all started taking pictures. Within a short time, the whole airport went crazy, thinking I am that dude."
Although slightly embarrassed by the misunderstanding, as people were taking pictures assuming he was Offset rather than recognizing him as GNL Zamba, he jokingly mentioned that he can understand the confusion when he's wearing sunglasses, noting a slight resemblance between himself and the American rapper.
GNL Zamba's music career recently received a significant boost when he, along with fellow rapper Navio, was inducted into the esteemed Recording Academy as Voting Members.
The Recording Academy, comprised of musicians, producers, recording engineers, and other professionals in the music industry, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of music and supporting its creators. By joining the Recording Academy as voting members, GNL Zamba and Navio now have the opportunity to actively engage in the renowned Grammy Awards process.
As Voting Members, these hip-hop stars will have the privilege and responsibility of evaluating submissions, casting votes, and influencing the selection of nominees and winners across various award categories. Their involvement will contribute to shaping the prestigious Grammy Awards and recognizing outstanding talent in the music industry.
