Vinka, whose real name is Veronica Lugya Nakiyingi, appeared as a guest on Galaxy F.M.'s Evening Rush hosted by D.J. Nimrod and LittleJoe. During the interview, a comparison between Vinka and Irene Ntale arose.
Nimrod: Are there things that Irene did that you believe you can do better?
Vinka: I don't think so. Honestly, I don't think so. We are two different individuals, two different artists. Irene is a guitarist, a vocalist. I can't sing like her.
LittleJoe: Then what would you say you are?
Vinka: I am a musician, but I am not as vocally skilled. I don't possess the same vocal ability.
LittleJoe: So, you acknowledge that Irene is vocally talented?
Vinka: And she can't sound like me either...LittleJoe: So, does that mean you are better?
Vinka: It's not about being better. There are certain notes she can hit that I can't, and vice versa. We are different... Irene is talented, let's acknowledge that.
Previously, Vinka served as Irene Ntale's manager at Swangz Avenue until the latter decided to pursue her own career in the music industry. Their professional separation was reportedly marked by acrimony.
In 2017, the two artists collaborated on a song called "Stylo," but Irene Ntale declined to participate in the video shoot. Although she initially appeared at the filming location, she later became upset and left abruptly. That same year, she decided to part ways with the music label she had joined in 2013.
Since departing from Swangz Avenue in 2017, Irene Ntale's music releases have not garnered significant attention. On the other hand, Vinka, who made the choice to pursue singing in 2016, has achieved widespread recognition and become a well-known figure in households.
