After the festival, Kenzo, whose real name is Edrisah Musuuza, held a press conference where he said that Nabbanja has been with him through good times and bad, so he can't ruin their relationship because they have different political views.
Now, Balaam Barugahara, who runs events, has said that Kenzo started working with Nabbanja before she was even a Member of Parliament (MP).
"The prime minister is a person like me. One of her first jobs in government was as RDC [Resident District Commissioner]." She used to help the Kenzo family. In Kakumiro, she owned a bar. Kenzo and Nince Henry sang at many of her events. So, when she goes to events for her brother or son, people who don't want to make friends don't like Uganda, Barugahara said in a recent interview.
Nabbanja is Uganda's first woman prime minister. Since 2011, she has been a member of parliament for the Kakumiro District. She was an RDC for 10 years before she became a lawmaker. During that time, she worked in Pallisa, Busia, and Budaka.
Barugahara, on the other hand, said that Kenzo should have invited the president to the concert as well. "Kenzo should have shown people a video of President Museveni talking. He is also a musician. He asked, "Haven't you heard about the 16-song album he just put out?"
"That's a lie," Barugahara said when asked if the government paid for the festival. Kenzo's money is his own... He has been going from city to city to promote his show." It's important to remember that when Kenzo's brother died recently, Nabbanja went to the funeral and President Museveni sent a message of sympathy.
