Angela Kalule Biography
Angela Kalule is a Ugandan musician and radio presenter, born on February 18, 1977, in Kampala, Uganda. She pursued her education at institutions such as Nakasero Senior Secondary School and Mengo Senior School before earning a bachelor's degree in Information Management .
Kalule began her music career in 1997 as a backup vocalist for the Diamond Ensemble, where she later became a lead vocalist and released her debut song, Akamuli. In 2006, she launched her solo career with a six-track album that included both English and Luganda songs (Angela Kalule | Music In Africa). Over the years, she has collaborated with various artists and bands, including Afrigo Band, and currently leads her own band, K'angie Band .
Her biggest breakthrough came with the hit Katikitiki, which won Song of the Year and Best Live Band Single at the 2011 Pearl of Africa Music Awards . Some of her other popular songs include Malaika, Too Much Love, and Engoyagoya .
Beyond music, Kalule is involved in philanthropy, advocating for women's empowerment and HIV/AIDS awareness. She also performs regularly with her band at various venues in Uganda .
