Your life and work
Sheebah Karungi was born and raised in Kawempe, a part of Uganda's capital city Kampala, by a single mother. She went to Kawempe Muslim Primary School for her early education. When she was in senior two at Midland High School, Kawempe, she quit school. She started dancing for money when she was 15 and joined a dance group called Stingers. In 2006, she left Stingers and joined Obsessions Music Group. During her time with Obsessions, she became interested in music and recorded two songs before she left the group to pursue music on her own.
In 2010, she put out her first official single, "Kunyenyenza," which was produced by Washington and written by Cindy. She then put out a song called "Bulikyekola," which had vocals by KS Alpha, and another song called "Baliwa," which had vocals by Coco Finger. When she put out "Automatic," a song written by Sizzaman, her solo career took a big turn for the better. After "Automatic" did well, she worked with Sizzaman again to make "Ice Cream," which got a lot of airplay and good reviews. After that, she made "Twesana," which also did well.
In 2014, she put out her first album, Ice Cream, a five-song EP that included the hit singles "Ice Cream" and "Jordan." The EP did well and helped her win several awards for Best Female Artist.
