Good Lyf Radio and Weasle Manizo
Goodlyfe Crew is a group of musicians from Uganda. Moses Radio (born Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo) and Weasel are two of its best-known artists (born Douglas Mayanja). Radio and Weasel started out as back-up singers for the Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone. In 2008, they left Chameleone's Leone Island Crew to form the Goodlyfe Crew. Since then, the songs of the duo have been played on Ugandan radio with success. The duo's first album was Nakudata, which came out in 2008. Since then, they have put out Lwaki Onumya, Zuena, Nyambura, and Bread and Butter. Around the middle of 2008, the duo worked with other artists like Rachel Kay, Blu*3, OS, Toniks, GNL, and General Ozzy from Zambia. Recently, they've done live shows and worked with another Ugandan artist, Keko.
History
Moses Radio started making music when he was the president of the Youth Alive Club at Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School in Jinja. He wrote songs for the club that did well in Youth Alive Club competitions between schools. Radio went to Kiira College Butiki in Jinja in 2002. There, he stopped making music for two years to focus on his high school studies. In 2004, he joined the Leone Island Crew of Chameleone.
Radio released his own solos on Leone Island Records while he was working as a back-up singer for Chameleone. Jennifer, Dagala, Wololo, and Sweet Lady are some of these names. Even though Radio was still not very well known, Sweet Lady was a hit. Weasel also put out solo albums through his older brother's label, but it was his work with Chameleone on Bomboclat that really got people's attention.
Style of music
Moses Radio's part is smooth R&B, and Weasel's is a mix of reggae, ragga, and dancehall sounds.
Other people
Gift of Kaddo MCs, Diamond Oscar, Mr. X, Buaman, Allan Kiwanuka, and Jeff Kiwanuka, who is also the group's manager, are also part of Goodlyfe Crew. All of the band members have put out their own solo albums.
Projects
Goodlyfe Magic is the group's own production company.
