Lydia Jazmine
Lydia Nabawanuka, also known as Lydia Jasmine, is a singer and musician from Uganda. She was born in 1991 in the Mukono district, which is in the central part of the country. Lydia went to primary school at Victoria Nile Primary school before moving on to St. Mary's school Namaliga in Kimenyedde sub-county in Mukono district.
Lydia Nabawanuka went to Cityland College in Matugga, which is in the Wakiso district, when she was done with elementary school.
After she finished high school, Lydia went to Kampala, Uganda's largest city, to attend Multitech Business School. In 2016, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management. Lydia Jasmine got her start in music when she joined the school choir in high school.
During that time, she also sang in the choirs at the Passover Harvest Centre and Watoto churches.
After she finished high school, she joined a band called Gertnum, where she was a backup singer.
Later, the music duo Radio and Weasel signed Lydia Jasmine to a contract as a back-up singer for the Goodlyfe crew.
She is the singer behind songs like "Ntunga" and "Breath Away." She also sang back-up for Bebecool and Sheebah Karungi on some of their songs.
Her first song, called "You Know," was a collaboration with Rabadaba and came out in 2014.
She later got a manager named Bushington, who has been in charge of her music business since the beginning of time. They recently broke up because they didn't agree on something, though.
Lydia Jasmine was chosen to represent Uganda at Coke Studio for the second year in a row in 2017. During that time, she worked with a Mozambican female artist named Liloca and was given a music producer named Sketchy Bongo.
Coca-Cola is putting on this non-competitive music show so that musicians from different countries can meet and talk to each other and also meet some other music producers.
Lydia Jasmine is a well-known name in Uganda's music industry, and her great musical success has led to her going all over the world.
