Big Eye
Mayanja Ibrahim, who is also known as Starboss Big Eye, was born on November 9, 1989, in Uganda's Kampala District in the Kawempe division. He was the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. Sulaiman Sempala, who had a total of seven children.
Starboss Big Eye was only 2 years old when his house was set on fire. He got first-degree burns but was saved from certain death.
Kazo Junior School was where he went for his primary education, and St. Mary's Nabweru was where he went for his secondary education. He went to Makerere University, but had to drop out after his second year because he couldn't pay the fees.
He started out as a solo artist, and Flavour ya Kiganda was the first song he put out. After putting out his first single, he joined Dr. Jose Chameleone's Leone Island Music Empire.
Under Leone Island, he made several songs, including Nkwagala Nyo Remix, which he made with Dr. Jose Chameleone. He went on to make more music, like the song "Towakana."
In 2008, Starboss Big Eye and another Ugandan singer, Eddy Kenzo, started a record label called Big Talent Entertainment. The two singers were in charge of the label. While he was at Big Talent, the first song he put out was called "Oyagala Ani." Then came "Indicator," which became a huge hit in East Africa. He kept making more songs, such as Muzibe and many others.
After 2 years, Starboss Big Eye started his own music label called Big Music Entertainment and kept putting out great songs like "Mango Juice," "Going Higher," "Nadeshi," "Already Booked," "Tusasanya," and "Self Contained," just to name a few.
In 2014, Starboss held his first music album release party, called the Ekikumi Physically Fit Album Launch, at Freedom City. It was the biggest party that venue had ever seen. After a successful show, he was nominated for the Best Concert of the Year award at the 2014 HiPipo Music Awards.
In 2015, the HiPipo music awards gave Starboss Big Eye the award for Best Afro-pop Artist in Uganda.
Starboss Big Eye is still a major figure in the Ugandan music business.
