Chosen Becky
Chosen Becky is a young, talented singer and songwriter whose song "Bankuza" blew up the radio waves in late 2018 and early 2019.
Becky is from Masaka, and her career has been full of luck ever since her first recording became a hit. She credits her former management, Nick Productions, and her former manager, Victor Kamenyo, for all of this.
She is also known for singles like "Byabangi," "Tokyuka," "Kapyata," "Nesimye," and many others. However, she hasn't been able to make a single better than "Bankuza," which still sounds like her third name.
How I grew up and went to school
Chosen Becky real name Kukiriza Rebecca was born around the year 2000. She was raised by Christians. Her father is a pastor, and her mother is a Christian who was born again.
She went to primary school at Nyendo, then to secondary school at St. Anthony Kayunga, and finally to St. Gerald's, where she finished her grade four.
Her mother ran out of money before she could join A level after she finished senior four. She then went to Masaka with a man named Mr. Kyanja, who gave her her first job in Mpigi, which was to pack petroleum jelly.
Career in music
Chosen Becky says that she found out she could sing in her primary seven class when she was 13 years old.
When her older sister Dona finished primary school, there was no one to take her place. Since she was Dona's younger sister, the teacher looked for her because she was Dona's younger sister.
She learned to sing, and by the time she finished P7, she could sing. After finishing high school, she got a job in Masaka, where the owner of NIK cosmetics, Mr. Joseph Kiwangwaa, was doing a drive for his products.
They stopped somewhere and said that anyone who wrote a song about their Vaseline would get a tin of Vaseline. Becky did a great job, and Mr. Joseph told her that he would make promoting Chosen Becky his goal.
But her strict Christian mother was the only problem. At first, she said no, but Joseph persuaded her and even told her that he was going to hire her daughter at her company.
When she joined forces with NIK production's management, she moved to Kampala and started living in Masajja. Thanks to Mr. Joseph's efforts, she was taken to producer Nessim's studios to record her first single, "Bankuza."
Bakuza was written by Nice Henry, and after it came out, it was the most talked about thing. This is when her management decided to hire Kamenyo as her official manager.
At the end of 2019, Bankuza was at the top of most chats. Because of this, the management of NIK production decided to give her her first concert, which was a success even though she only had two songs called Bankuza and byabangi.
In 2019, Chosen Becky left the management of NIK production and joined the management of David Lutalo. She was able to record in David Lutalo's studios, and he even wrote a song for her.
Victor Kamenyo said that Chosen was a traitor and that he wasn't patient before he quit NIK production. She later quit being in charge of David Lutalo, but it's not clear why.
Becky has put out a lot of good songs, but she hasn't made a single that's better than Bakunza.

She went on to say that she fell in love with a photographer named Jjagwe Ronald when she was young. Ronald was the father of her first child.
Controversy
When Chosen Becky was pregnant with her second child, there was a debate about who the father was. It was said that she was dating two men, a comedian named Maluana and a blogger named Amir.
But after she gave birth, she found out that Amir, a blogger, was the real father.
People thought she was innocent and hadn't given birth to any children when she became famous in 2019 with her song "Bankuza." However, in 2020, a man named JJagwe Ronald came out and said that Chosen and her family had stopped her from seeing the child he had with Becky.
Ronald hit the media, which made Chosen fall to her knees and let Jjagwe see his child.
When she left NIK Production, her former boss, Victor Kamenyo, said she was rude and a traitor because she couldn't wait. After she left NIK, she joined David Lutalo's management team, but she didn't stay with the group for long and decided to go it alone.
