How I grew up and went to school

Evelyn Nakabira was born on June 1, 1982, in what was then called the Masaka District, but is now called the Kalungu District. Her parents died when she was young, so she never got to know her dad.

Evelyn Lagu moved to Mityana to live with her aunt, who was a midwife, and her husband after her parents died. The late Evelyn Lagu went to Aga Khan, Mityana SS, and Pride SS Mityana for her O' Level education, and then to St. Peter's Busubizi for her A' Level education, which she finished in 1999.

Her first gospel song was called "Testimony."

This happened after she left Nakasero Hospital, where she had been staying. Evelyn Lagu was glad that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni paid for her medical care.

Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, who runs events, pushed the President to pay for Evelyn Lagu's medical bills. Evelyn Lagu went to Aga Khan, Mityana SS, and Pride SS Mityana for her O' Levels, and she finished her A' Levels at St. Peter's Busubizi in 1999.
