Judith Babirye is a politician and gospel singer from Uganda. She is the senior pastor at "New Life Deliverance Church" in Makindye Division, which is in the southeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital city.
She is also a member of parliament for the Buikwe District Women Constituency in the 10th Parliament, which she was elected to (2016–2021).
How I grew up and went to school
Babirye was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mukooza on September 23, 1977, in the town of Nyenga in the district of Buikwe. She went to school in the Luweero District at Nalinya Lwantale Primary School. She went to Ndejje Senior School for her O-Levels and Iganga Secondary School for her A-Levels. In 1998, she got her High School Diploma.
She went to Uganda's oldest and biggest public university, Makerere University, where she got a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism in 2001.
Music
Babirye won the music composition festivals at Ndejje Secondary School when she was in Senior Two and they had to write the school song. At Iganga, she also wrote the school song, which was the start of her career as a musician.
In 2006, her first song, "Beera Nange," won the Pearl of Africa Music Award for best gospel single. She has had hits like "Wambatira", "Omusaayi gwa Yesu", "Ekitibwa kyo Mukama" and "Maama". [

"Beera nange" won the 2006 Pearl of Africa Music Awards for best gospel single.
The Victoria Gospel Music Awards (VIGA) named it album of the year in 2007.
In 2005, Judith Babirye married Samuel Niwo. Around the same time, they had a daughter. In 2009, they broke up. Babirye filed for divorce in January 2017.
In 2018, she got married to Paul Musoke Ssebulime, who was the MP for Buikwe North Constituency at the time. Each of them was getting married for the second time.
