Os Suna
Omulangira Emmanuel Suuna, also known as OS, is a Ugandan musician, songwriter, producer, and skilled instrumentalist. He possesses a diverse range of talents in the field of music.
OS, formerly known as Abdul Shakul during his conversion to Islam, gained prominence as the producer of the song "Nakudata," which propelled the late Mowzey Radio & Weasel of the Goodlyfe Crew into the spotlight. He has also written and produced his own singles, including "Lwaki Onumya," "Ngamba," and "Zuena."
As the owner of White House Entertainment, a music label, OS has established himself as a prominent figure in the industry. Despite his success, he remains grounded and has developed a fondness for tea, a habit inherited from his father. It is worth noting that he abstains from smoking and drugs.
One of the most embarrassing moments in OS's life occurred when he forgot to zip up his trousers before appearing on stage to present music at Mayor's Garden in Jinja City.
Born on December 25, 1982, in Misigi village, Singo, Mityana District, Uganda, Omulangira Emmanuel Suuna grew up in Mbirizi village, Masaka District, which is now Masaka City. He completed his primary education at schools in Masaka District, namely Mbirizi Primary School and Kyamaganda Demonstration School. He then transferred to Kasasa Secondary School and completed his studies up to senior three.
After finishing senior three, OS ran away from school and ended up living as a street boy in Kampala. However, his sister tirelessly searched for him and eventually found him. As punishment for running away, his father disciplined him by administering 80 strokes with a cane. Following this incident, OS returned to school and attended senior four at Nakyenyi Senior Secondary School in Mbirizi, Masaka City.
Although he was known for his rebellious behavior, OS displayed academic potential and achieved a first-grade result, which was a remarkable accomplishment considering it had been 12 years since his last examination. Only two students received first grades at his school that year.
Unfortunately, at the age of 18, OS decided to discontinue his education during senior five at Kinoni Parents Schools and pursued a career in music. This decision disappointed his parents, who believed he was still attending school. Consequently, he relocated to Kampala to pursue his musical aspirations.
Omulangira Emmanuel Suuna embarked on his musical journey at the age of 18 while in senior five in 2004. Initially, he was under the management of Omulangira Ndausi, who belonged to Radio Simba's Fanda Family music group.
Before joining forces with Ndausi, however, OS started singing in different bands. He began his musical endeavors in a band called Friends Band, owned by Tom Ssengendo. Subsequently, he joined the Betty Kagimu Band, owned by Betty Kagimu, shortly after his arrival in Kampala.
During his early career, OS produced his first song, a hit titled "Joana," at Dream Studios. Notably, he was once managed by Pherrie Kim, who later became his girlfriend, and they have a son together.
At a certain point, OS faced a significant setback in his musical journey after getting married to Aisha. Islamic doctrines discourage music, which posed numerous challenges for him. This situation led him to experience hardships, including sleeping in his car and surviving on porridge for three days, as he had no place to stay and was financially broke.
However, the tide turned when OS received an unexpected call from his sister, Nalwadda, who resided in Dubai. After five years without any communication, she offered him 1 million shillings. This turning point prompted OS to apologize to his family, whom he had become estranged from due to his conversion to Islam. He resumed his music career, and things gradually fell back into place.

Besides his music career, OS has taken on other responsibilities. After completing school in senior five, he initially engaged in a motorcycle rally for survival in Mbarara City. However, this endeavor did not yield the desired results. Subsequently, he pursued brewing local alcohol called Akaliga in Mbarara, a skill he learned from his grandmother. Nevertheless, this venture was also short-lived.
Eventually, OS found work as a barber in a salon, still in Mbarara, before eventually relocating to Kampala City.
OS found himself in a bitter confrontation with Ugandan bloggers who spread fake news about his brand. The controversy arose after he posted pictures on his social media platforms posing with a storied building worth 700 million Uganda Shillings under construction in Munyonyo, along with a vast pine tree forest, claiming them as his own.
In the caption accompanying the post, OS stated that every man should strive to achieve such properties before turning forty. However, later reports emerged revealing that the properties actually belonged to OS's sugar mummy. This led the public to believe that OS was seeking attention after fading from the music scene.
Reacting to these claims, OS called upon the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) to regulate bloggers and prevent the spread of defamatory statements. One prominent blogger who also served as the president of the Bloggers Association, Ibrahim Tusubira Isma Olaxees, made derogatory remarks about Omulangira Suuna. Isma alleged that OS was a washed-up musician running a family shrine at his home and relying on sugar mummies for survival. These comments deeply disturbed OS.
As a result, Isma was charged with offensive communication and criminal libel, leading to his arrest and subsequent detention at Kitalya Prison. Additionally, OS took legal action against NBS TV, Sanyuka TV, and NXT Radio presenters, accusing them of defamation and character assassination. The three presenters, Isaac Kawalya Ssemulondo (alias Kayz), Bryan Kennedy Waako, and William Makuliro, were also detained at Kitalya Prison but were later released on bail after a few days.
Omulangira Suuna filed the lawsuit through his lawyers, Mr. Robert Lutaalo and Mr. Precious Nahabwe from Elgon Associated Advocates at Buganda Road Court. The lawyers argued that the mentioned presenters had referred to OS as a witch doctor and questioned his ownership of the storied building and pine plantation he showcased as recent achievements.
According to Mr. Lutaalo, the Next Media presenters and the mentioned blogger committed the offense on August 27th, 2021. Consequently, OS demanded compensation amounting to 1 billion Uganda Shillings for the damages caused to his brand. He made it clear that he would never forgive Next Media Services and its presenters for tarnishing his reputation.
Furthermore, in addition to seeking compensation, Omulangira Emmanuel Suuna insists that Next Media take action against its presenters Kayz, Brain Wako, and Mako for the harm they caused to his brand. He also demands a revision or complete removal of the gossip entertainment show if its purpose is to tarnish his reputation. Additionally, he expects a public apology from Next Media.
Moreover, OS insists that if the above conditions are met, NBS TV should delete all video clips from the internet where its presenters defamed and smeared his image.
