
Pastor George Okudi
Pastor George Okudi is a Ugandan gospel musician and pastor best known for his hit song Wipolo, which brought him widespread recognition in the early 2000s. He was the first Ugandan gospel artist to win a Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Award for Best Gospel Artist in 2003. That same year, he won the Best Male Artist award at the East Africa Awards and the Best African Male Artist award at the prestigious Kora Awards, where he notably beat competitors like Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool ).
Following his success, Okudi moved to the United States, where he became involved in church ministry and humanitarian work. He has worked with organizations such as Tower of Hope and Obama’s Children, focusing on supporting underprivileged children. Additionally, he has continued his music career, recording hundreds of songs in his studio .
Despite rumors of financial struggles and controversies, Okudi has maintained that he is doing well and remains dedicated to both his faith and music. He has also expressed plans to return to Uganda to continue his gospel music and ministry .
