Stecia Mayanja Biography
Stecia Mayanja, also known as Faridah, is a multifaceted Ugandan entertainer recognized as a singer, actress, and member of the Golden Band. She initially gained prominence with the Eagles Production Band before it evolved into the Golden Band, later pursuing a solo music career. Singing in both Luganda and English, she is known for hits like Equalizer, Game Over, and Kawompo.
In the acting world, Stecia has appeared in productions such as The Honourables (2017) and her own project, Stecia and the House Girl.
On a personal level, she was previously legally married to Dubai-based Abbas Mubiru. However, her love life later saw her involved with her Golden Band manager, Bashir Bogere. Despite her talent, she faced challenges with the band’s leadership, which, for a time, showed limited support for her work.
Her discography includes albums like Mulamuzi (2015), Figure (2016), and her latest release, Alintwala (2022). Some of her popular singles include Kantinti, Equalizer, and Kabalagala.
Stecia has received recognition through nominations at notable awards, including the 2016 Uganda Entertainment Awards and the 5th Prestigious HiPipo Music Awards. She remains a prominent figure in Uganda’s dynamic music and entertainment industry.
