Warafiki
Today, Friday, December 12, Fenon Records unveiled Warafiki, a trio of talented ladies. The group's name, Warafiki, translates to "Friends" in Swahili, a fitting description of their close bond, which has endured for about seven years. United by their shared aspiration for success in the music industry, these girls embarked on their journey together. Despite facing challenges in securing a record deal before the COVID-19 lockdown, Fenon Records eventually offered them the opportunity they had been seeking.
Over the past three years, Warafiki has dedicated themselves to rigorous vocal training and honing their stage presence, underlining their commitment to excellence in entertainment. Today marks the debut of their Afro Pop single, "Bwekati," produced by the renowned Steve Jean, alongside Legend P and Joel Keys.
Although their first release falls within the Afro-Pop genre, Warafiki emphasizes their versatility, expressing their desire not to be confined to a single style. They assert that their repertoire spans Afro zouk, reggae, R&B, techno, and more, reflecting the diverse tastes of contemporary audiences.
Drawing inspiration from past Ugandan music sensations like Blu*3 and Obsessions, Warafiki aims to leave their mark on the local music scene. With the guidance of Steve Jean, a seasoned producer, artist manager, and event organizer, they are poised for success in their musical endeavors.
