Winnie Munyenga
Winnie Munyenga is a Ugandan musician who gained recognition in 2004 with her debut album Saasira. She comes from a musical family, being the daughter of veteran musicians Martin Munyenga and Monica Asaaba. She grew up in Bulange, Mengo, and studied at Namirembe Infant’s School, Mengo Primary School, Stella Maris College Nsuube, and Progressive SS, Bweyogerere. She later pursued a course in music, dance, and drama at Makerere University.
Munyenga developed a passion for music early on, participating in school and church choirs. She later joined the Badindaz Band, led by the late Tony Sengo, and Kads Band before launching her solo career. Beyond music, she is a devoted Christian and values her faith deeply.
She is married and has two children. Despite a declining music career in recent years, she remains passionate about her family and faith.
